I'm not sure I agree with this. I voted remain, and although the vote went the opposite way to what I wanted, I won't be signing. The public have spoken. If the roles were reversed, I'm sure the remain camp wouldn't be happy if this went ahead. Sorry OP, know you are only sharing.

Whether or not it's invalid, having a huge amount of signatories at the very least sends a message, and it will have to be discussed in parliament.

Heck yes, Scotland are going to keep having them until they get the result they want!

I won't be signing it. This is a democracy and the majority have spoken. It isn't what I voted for, but I will accept it, as I'm sure others would if the result was the other way round.

This is democracy. We ask the people, they respond and we follow their directive.

You would be up in the arms if REMAIN had won at the referendum and we turned around and said "you didn't understand, we don't agree with your decision, your I'll informed and don't know what you're talking about, you're wrong so we're going to decide for you"

Around half of the country voted remain, I don't think you can that democracy. A second referendum would be fair as the remain campaign was woeful at getting all of the relevant information out there necessary to counteract the 'but immigration' nonsense. An awful lot of people are now coming forward saying they regret their leave vote but had no other information at the time. Plenty more thought a leave win was out of the question so didn't vote and now will.

A second referendum isn't silencing the leave voters, they can still vote leave again.

I think England and Wales should get an Indyref, and then leave the EU. That way, Scotland and NI simply stay in the EU and go from here, and it will be far less expensive, less messy, much more amicable.

If leave voters had credible reasons for voting leave, perhaps but it is ridiculous to expect half a population to go along with a decision that is damaging to them.

I have several friends who are now at risk of losing their jobs, they're all remain voters. I have several family member who do not have jobs (retired/on benefits), they voted leave and aren't affected in any way at all. This is just a small window into the rest of the country and it cannot be called fair.

And maybe there should also be a pre-voting round with separate boxes depending on the way you intend to vote and then all those voting the way that you don't like could be excluded from the final vote

We may not like the result, but do you really want another bout of lies, damned lies, statistics, flawed arguments, vitriol and bile.

I voted remain. It isn't. Maybe if more than 75% of voters had voted, it would be different. Maybe if more 18-24 years olds had voted, it would be different. Maybe if there had been a fair and honest assessment of leave and remain, it would be different.

It was such a tiny majority. I do wish 16 & 17 year olds could vote; it's their future.

Yes actually with such a close majority if it had been the other way round I would still be asking for a second one. The amount of leavers who didn't have the info they needed and would possibly vote differently is appalling.
