Snaresbrook Primary School in the London Borough of Redbridge is being forced to become an academy against the wishes of the majority of parents. The school has served the local community well for nearly 40 years and has been consistently rated Good by Ofsted. A recent report has put the school into special measures – Ofsted identified the problem as weak leadership, a problem already being addressed by the local authority. KS2 results this year are the 4th highest in the borough. Yet the DfE appear determined to farm the school out to the private sector.
