Please forgive my apparent stupidity, but is it Coll-er-ridge, Cole-ridge or something else because I don't have a clue.

Thank you, as I thought!

OrmIrian Tue 25-Aug-09 11:01:12

Coal ridge.

And I should know. He was an ancestor of mine I'll have you know! Dad and DB have Coleridge as one of their middle names hmm

NightShoe Tue 25-Aug-09 11:28:09

Oh! Now I am all confused again!

Ponders Tue 25-Aug-09 11:57:43

Orm's coal ridge & Mrs B's COH- l'-ridge sound the same, don't they?

MrsBadger Tue 25-Aug-09 13:03:22

I voice the L, jsut sligthtly

OrmIrian Tue 25-Aug-09 13:08:43

Having said that I never met the guy in person. He may well have pronounced his name Blenkinsop for all I know grin

thumbwitch Tue 25-Aug-09 13:16:28

I say it the same as MrsBadger does.

GrimmaTheNome Tue 25-Aug-09 13:23:45

It would depend what he was on at the time, Orm. grin

OrmIrian Tue 25-Aug-09 13:47:48
