(DP's Mum, who is not English, once muddled up bollards with the obvious similar word and told someone how she "nearly hit some bollocks when parking the car"!)

It's nothing to do with genitals, but is a reference to old printing machines where a letter stamp might become loose and the printed text would be 'cocked' up
