I'm sure that you're far too ladylike to ever fart Lulu smile.

Its actually based on the farts my eldery cat makes when shes asleep next to you on the sofa. She can empty a room grin

Pwwwwww - on a rising note. If course that's based on raspberrying with pursed lips, if you go for the wet tongue approach instead then it's probably more of a thhhhhhhh. Which raises the question - just how many different ways are there to blow a raspberry?

DisturbinglySexuallyInactive Sun 21-Jun-09 10:27:17

there's definitely a b or two in there

nobodysfool Sun 21-Jun-09 16:23:38

My husband is giving me the weirdest look grin I have now told him that I am trying to work out how to spell the noise of a raspberry and he's done his Bloody Mumsnet face. grin

HecatesTwopenceworth Sun 21-Jun-09 16:26:50

purepurple Sun 21-Jun-09 16:31:26

<tongue out>

Celery Sun 21-Jun-09 16:44:42

I spell it pthppppthppth

nobodysfool Sun 21-Jun-09 18:59:23

My very clever MIL has sent me this...

There are multiple spellings, generally with at least one letter repeated several times in a row to show that the sound is drawn out. Sometimes hyphens are used between these letters.

TTTTHPBT! or T-T-THPT! for example

"Th" is almost always included, which makes sense, since that's the primary sound of a blown raspberry. I have no idea if there is actually an official spelling.

It worked in the Beano. I always knew when Dennis the Menace was blowing a raspberry.

I'm enjoying the image of loads of Mumsnetters sitting at their keyboards and blowing raspberries, then trying to work out how to spell it. Delightful [rasp] grin

My 16 month old dd is laughing very hard at me and saying 'again, again!'
