I have tried searching on their site and can't find it, so here you go:

Giles Coren on the Booker award ceremony ..

"Every year a big thing is made about the dumbing-down of the Booker Prize...

Personally, as long as they choose a decent book (and I'll be fair, one is not necessarily published every year), I don't care who the judges are, or what they do, or what silliness goes on at the silly party (which may not be silly for all I know, as I've never been invited). Or, at least, that was how I felt until this week, when I saw what one of the judges, Hardeep Singh Kohli, got up to.

Now, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Hardeep. I was delighted by the taste he displayed both in the prizewinner and the outfit he chose for the big night - I love a man in the old kilt-and-turban combo, and what else is a Scots Sikh to wear? I only hope that he one day fathers a son by a French-Arapaho Jewess who grows up to attend black-tie events not only in kilt and turban, but with curly sidelocks, war paint and a string of onions round his neck.

No, what bothered me about Hardeep was that he sang a bawdy song of the auld country called The Ball of Kirriemuir, which went as follows: "Four-and-twenty virgins came down from Inverness/ And when the ball was over there were four-and-twenty less."

I know, I know. At a literary event, of all places. With children possibly watching at home. Disgusting.
It's four-and-twenty FEWER!
