Shouldn't Sharpie have a capital S?

Oh that is funny!

I've also seen a notice in a shop window: "Lady's handbag's".

I tend to carry a sharpie with me so I might start using it for this sort of thing!

The furnitures from the halls have just passed Tesco? Surely they should have overtaken on the right.

It's a felt tip pen.

There used to be a shop called Bankrupt Bed's and Sofa's in the high street. I went in to complain.

I've just remembered: I was in a supermarket at the weekend and there was a sign (properly typed up and laminated) in the toilets telling us that they were being refurbished, so "please bare with us". Shock

My inner pedant came out, and I actually circled it and scrawled "no thanks!"

I usually just smirk and move on, so I don't know what came over me - probably the unconscious influence of MN. Blush

Subconscious or unconscious?! 😉

dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/unconscious

The second definition here for "unconscious" is for a thought or feeling you do not know you have, which I guess would be operating at a subconscious level, so I think my usage is fine. And I spelt it correctly!

Probably your real quibble should that I was in fact fully conscious of the hand of Pedants' Corner on my shoulder at the time and even thought this might make a good thread on MN... Confused
