It's brake and break for me at the moment. I feel ya though, it's like some people have never actually seen the words written down.

I did pick up a friend on it a while ago. She said brought for both brought and bought. She genuinely had no idea that they were two different words.

Also lose/loose. Wanting to 'loose' weight is not a thing! I see it everywhere!!

Insanity your its should be it's Wink

I saw "mindfield" before. What the fuck is a mindfield? Why would anyone think it's a mindfield?
It is so clearly minefield...you know, that field full of mines that you have to be extra careful on so you don't set of the mines. Your mind has fuck all to do with it!

(I bet there's a mistake in my post now I've pointed out Insanity's mistake)

DesolateWaist · 03/12/2016 00:38

I can forgot lose and loose as the difference isn't so obvious. Look at the word loo for example.

Bought is when you buy something!!
A lot of spelling mistakes on MN lately too and a lot of Netmums Hunz about too, i even had on the other day telling me how "totes emosh"she wasShock Hmm
Hands out grips and Xmas Biscuit to those people

pictish · 03/12/2016 01:12

'totes emosh' - I love that.

Could/would/should of instead of could/would/should have and brought instead of bought are my two top grammar fuck up irritations.
I'd not call anyone out on it though.

I don't mention it in a reply to a post on here, although I might reply making sure I got the correct word in my reply.
Which is why I have come to pedants corner.
I picked up a friend on it as she was asking me to proof read something for her.
