what do you mean?
cold is an adjective if that's what you mean-it is describing the weather?

borisgudanov Wed 21-Jan-15 17:36:59

Predicative adjective.

hollyisalovelyname Wed 21-Jan-15 18:13:06

So 'is cold' is not a verb

amy83firsttimer Wed 21-Jan-15 18:16:03

Adjective

'Is' is the verb, 'cold' is the adjective.

A verb is an action word so if you said it is cold and snowing , snowing would be the verb.

Trickydecision Wed 28-Jan-15 14:47:21

'Snowing' wouldn't be the verb, surely? It would still be 'is'. 'Snowing' must be the present participle.
