When do I use all of these?

I've looked into this in the past on PC & the upshot was that burnt, earnt etc are UK, and burned, earned etc are US.

I found that a little, looking through, but it seems to be the source of much arguement.

Just thought I'd check really as DS1 is starting to spell things out a little more, it would be nice to be telling him the right thing. I think I'll go with the t at the end, it seemed the first thing that jumped to mind.

I don't think I have ever come across "earnt".

I would tend personally to use "burnt" to describe the state but "burned" to describe the process but I don't know whether there is any rationale to that.

I agree with Funt.
It's sort of similar to past/passed.
