Please would Cherry Healey's producers explain the difference. Rules are not made to be flaunted.

There are lots of these around to annoy. Mitigate and militate is another common confusion.

I hate the flaunted/flouted one. Another reason to avoid La Healey who is a gigantic waste of space.

Perhaps she should do neither and just flounce? Although she'll probably think that's just another 'synonym' for flaunt and flout, because it alliterates. Just as long as she doesn't flirt...
