Phew. I keep seeing 'towing the line' on here, and it was doing my head in. I wondered if I had been wrong all these years. It's a relief to know I'm not. Thanks!

It is toeing, and I also get irritated by the towing the line thing.

I've always wondered that too, Euphemia

The other one that springs to mind is 'reigning it in' or using 'reigns' if your toddler is a bolter

They weren't questions - I was just stating that some people don't seem to know the difference between reign and rein
