Arms and apostrophes

Is it 'arm's length' or 'arms' length'?

I think it's arm in the singular, but are both correct?

What wasn't correct was that a Telegraph report used both. It wouldn't have happened if they hadn't got rid of that nice man Simon Heffer. wink
