As thread says dd1 is having 3 friends over for her bday on saturday and I'm not sure what games will work well with only 4 children. Any ideas and tips on how to cope with four 5 year olds over night??!!!!

Flappy fish? Cut 4 fish shapes out of tissue paper (different colours if you can). Give each child a sheet of cardboard and they waft it at the fish, flapping them down to a finishing line

You can do musical bumps (just give a sticker to whoever sits down first, rather than someone being out each time).
Also face painting is always fun (you could let them loose with their own face paints?)
Cake decorating - make a load of fairy cakes and provide lots of different toppings and small dishes of glace icing.

Making stuff, eg get a beading kit so they can make necklaces - also agree with the cakes. You could also have them make their own birthday tea eg by helping you make pizzas and choosing their toppings (or just buy ready-made margherita pizzas and choice of toppings).

How about the Mummy game? Two adults willing to be wrapped in loo roll. Two kids with each adult, with a race to cover their adult first. DS loved this last year, and loo rolls can be very cheap.
