Party ideas for 9 year old boys!!

My 9 year old son wants a party at home this year. I have already hired a bouncey castle but im abit stuck with some other ideas on what i can do for him and his friends! Any ideas what be very helpfull!!! Thanks xxx

how many children are we talking about here?

Are they into board games?

Do you have a wii / other games console?

(either way you could potentially organise some sort of tournament)

alternatively - could you or someone else referee outside "sports" (football, races, etc)

DS went to a party at a friends where everyone who had one took a games console and some games and they all played on those - it sounds dull but they were all talking to each other and playing in pairs and some of the consoles could form networks.
There is always the pizza, dvd and popcorn option.
Or how about a treasure hunt? depending on your DS's interests it could be a dinosaur, space themed hunt - maybe with task as well as clues - eg solving a riddle- writing a limerick, building something from lego which then has to be shown to the the quiz master for the next clue
