A Helping Hand - YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE!!

Hi All

Firstly, please bear with me as I have a tendancy to ramble on! Secondly, hopefully you can help..

My friend and I are currently conducting some research into the demand levels for organsied children's parties - with a difference. The idea is to supply, co-ordinate and perform children?s birthday parties (ages 3 ? 9) within the family home or rented venue ? initial consultation, set-up, entertainment, decorations and clean-up are all included in the cost as well as unique themes, fun and fancy dress!

We aim to to enable both you, the parents, and children to enjoy the special day, reducing the stress, hassle and time required to give your child the best possible party at a competitive cost.

I have grown up as part of a large family, with a mother who is a Primary School Teacher and I understand how time-consuming such events can be, but also how fun! I want to provide a service that gives everyone the chance to really focus on what it is all about - the kid's enjoyment (with perhaps some learning along the way) without it turning into some mammoth party planning situation!

I want to make the service as flexible, versatile and reactionary as possible, making sure we are offering what is both wanted and needed - which is where I need YOU! Do you have parties for your children (Birthdays or otherwise)?

What is the average amount of children at each party?

Do you have themed parties? If so, which themes have you found popular?

Do you hire/use entertainers? If no, why not?

What do you (on average) spend on a party?

How much would you be willing to spend if the party was organised, set-up, ran and cleaned up after including catering, cake, entertainment and fancy dress over a 2.5 hour period?

Would you prefer to have a mix and match option (i.e. choose to add in the cake/catering/certain games & activities) or
an all inclusive service?

What would be your concerns over hiring someone to organise and host your child's party?

Where would you expect to find such a service advertised?
