Yorkie - i know i keep going on about it, but the science stuff we did at dd1's party was fab and would suit a multitude of ages, can also give a Christmas theme. if i can get over to you and i;m free then i'm more than happy to help you do it. As you know WAY means a hell of a lot to me.

tea light holders - glass paint jam jars, add tea light candle - very easy. I have loads of glass paint, you could have some if you want it...could send it via Katz

Some kind of tree decoration? Eg: hama bead stars or angels; or one of those foldy card things that makes a three dimensional star (soembody clever will be able to explain this one more, I'm sure!).

Mixing reindeer food and decorating nice bags to put it in?

at out todler group fun day last Christmas they made Christmas cards - they had pre cut stable shapes and had straw to stick on them.

Also did baby Jesus "nests" - chocolate cornflake cakes with a jelly baby on top!

yes of course - are you coming over this way at all? the paints are in strips of 5 like you get in paint it by numbers kits - I got loads of them when our local craft bank shut. get collecting jam jars and get your friends to do so too - or ask attendees to bring one with them. do you have lots of paintbrushes - or could you borrow form school? you'd need quite fine ones to go in the pots.

paint also works on tiles if you have any spare ones knocking around - we've made teapot or pot stands by painting on plain tiles.

make a load of salt dough - cut out with christmas bisc cutters, make hole in before baking. these can then be painted and glittered - cheap to do in bulk but effective, and suits a range of ages.

bulk buy very cheap photo frames (3 for £1 in Ikea) get kids to decorate frames. do a group shot at the party, take laptop and printer and print out copies at party - put photo in frame to take home as memento.

would musical chairs to Christmas Carols be any good? or pass the parcel wrapped in Christmas paper?

How long is the party? Will you be having food too?

Tattoos in addition to facepainting seem popular at the moment.
