I wouldn't do them for a 2 year old but I may buy a Mr Men book to go with cake and balloon to take home.

crap, mostly. For a 2 yr old I would probably put a little board book ( get a multi pack) and some sweeties and that's it. Perhaps some stickers too but that's about it.

yes the mr men is a good idea.

oooh and if it's for girls the asda party tat stuff for party bags includes packs of 5 bracelets for about dd loves her and it's lasted weeks.

and for boys the wee cars that you get in tesco for about 82p were a big hit with my lad at this age

I wouldn't (and didn't) bother for 2nd birthday. However, DS has just been to a 3 yr old's party and was made up with his first ever party bag of cheap tat and sweets. He particularly enjoyed a plastic whistle...

IMO it's not about whether there's any need to do it but whether it'd be nice to do it.

I like making up party bags and I love giving them out to children and them enjoying the contents.

My kids ADORE them.

Yes, that's why i am doing them. It's only for 5 kids and this sort of thing isn't a choar for me as i like doing this stuff.

We got one the other week that contained bubbles and a wee pot containing a daffodil bulb and compost - dd will love that come spring, and loves the bubbles now.

I put in small pots of playdough, crayons, small book (thomas/peppa pig), raisins and bubbles. And they got a balloon and cake.

MsSparkle Sun 05-Oct-08 21:11:22

I like the daffodil bulb idea. That would be nice.
