Baring in mind I know very little about him & on't want to spend loads.

Are there any books about Liverpool in the eighties?

Or maybe a retro Garfield comic/book?

Or something more interesting?

I'm desperate

If you don't know him I would send a bottle of champagne (though check if possible that he drinks)
Anyone normal would be thrilled (and if it's a woman, same goes for a lovely bouquet). It doesn't last, so it's done with soon and doesn't add to their clutter and there's not a risk you're sending them a book/CD/etc that they don't like, or that they have already.

Champagne might work....but it's not quite what I had in mind (tho' as I don't know what I have in mind that's a bit picky of me blush)

Amazon voucher? Men usually aren't that bothered about carefully thought out pressies IMO - prefer to chose something they want grin. Doesn't have to be much dosh either...
