Best cocktail for unsophisticated palates (18th birthday party)

Dd is having a dozen friends over for a BBQ for her 18th birthday (fortunately, weather is looking promising for the preferred date). I would like to offer them a cocktail but don't want to make anything that they won't like (I favour zesty cocktails like Margheritas and Moscow mule) and assume they would like something sweet-ish, since dd has turned her nose up at a Margherita and similar.

Any recommendations please?

I seem to remember thinking Cosmopolitans were the height of sophistication at that age. You can also make sure they're not too mindnumbingly strong by adding more cranberry juice than vodka...

Sex on the beach is one of my favourites

Vodka, peach schnapps, fresh OJ and cranberry juice.

I also recently had a cherry bakewell cocktail which was amazing. Not a clue what was in it though 🤔

We used to call them woo-woos - Malibu, pineapple juice, whipped cream on top. You can do coco-coladas with a bit of coconut milk too.

Anything with fruit juice and blue curacao. Mojitos are easy and sweet.

You can get all sorts of daft pink gins now - sparkly unicorn ones and stuff. I imagine with lemonade they’d be suitable tooth-meltingly sweet too.

Or if you really can’t be arsed, Cuba libres! (Rum and coke, slice of lime)

Pornstar Martinis - Tesco sell it premade in a box, like wine Grin

For parties in our family we just pile all the booze up on the side with mixers and so on, and someone has an app with cocktails on so you can search by ingredient. People then help themselves generally (we have a bar in the garden now though).

Thank you Smile

Maybe I will try all of these in the interests of research before deciding on the finalist (its going to be a drunken weekend)

I had been wondering about Sex on the Beach - I thought that the name might amuse them too

Pina colada? Or Pimms and lemonade with fruit in - pimms not too strong.

Me and my friends all drank Sex on the beach as teenagers. We thought it made us look so mature 😂

You can also get or you could back in the day various freezable cocktails from asda.
You stick them in the freezer a few hours before you need them and they come out slushy. (They're not as alcoholic, but frozen cocktails are amazing)

French martinis are dead easy to make and pretty sweet so ought to appeal to your demographic.
Equal measures of vodka and chambord, topped up with pineapple juice and shaken.

Kir royale would be easy too. One measure of Chambord topped up with fizz. I would stipulate it has to be champers but prosecco would do the job and save some pennies.

A made jugs of cosmopolitans and french martini- both quite sweet and fruity. Went down well with DD and friends!
