So DS will be turning one right after the holidays, and while I am certainly NOT doing any planning yet, ideas are creeping into my mind, and I’d love to hear from other mums what they were glad about or regretted about doing baby parties. See, I’m not sure we’ll even do a proper party, because I’m not sure it’s needed.
For context, we live in W Sussex, and have made some baby friends (along with their parents), but all our family is in SE London. Our place is not big enough to host more than a couple people, so that’s out. I imagine we’d just do a party at MIL’s house...I'd feel a little bad leaving out our new friends, but wouldn’t want them to feel obligated getting up to London.
My main reason for doing a party at all is it’s a great reason to get family and friends together, and let some of the people we don’t see very often have a chance to see the baby.
So- yes or no to doing a party? What did you do for yours that you thought was great? What was not worth it? I’d love to know!
