Ok - think I know the answer to this one - but DS1 going to friends party tomorrow which is joint with her friend who DS1 doesn't know and I've never met.

Should we take a little token gift?

At joint parties we only take cards and gifts for the child we know.

Really Hula? Does it make a difference that her Mum does my ironing?

Have only been to two joint parties. Other child at each we did not know at all, not even their names. We didn't take a gift.

Nope, just take for the child you do know. DD had a joint party with her friend and people only brought for the child they knew. FAR, far too expensive otherwise!

I would probably tend towards generosity in this case as you do know the mother. But otherwise agree - if I don't know child or mother then it would be just a card.

Thank you all - think will just get something small with a card.
