Hi, I can't decide what would be the best way to entertain 30 kids at my daughter's 6th birthday party. I was first considering to have an entertainer for 1.5 to do some magic show and games and then lunch served. I provisionally booked a venue today from 10:30- 1:30 and they have an option of hiring a giant bouncy castle. I contacted an entertainer and he told me he would rather not have a bouncy castle as it would distract kids. But now my daughter says she would rather have a bouncy castle at her party. Any advice on what to do? Any activities to do together with bouncy castle party? Or should I hire an entertainer for an hour and the rest will be bouncy castle psrty? Or just an entertainer will be enough? Thanks.

Firstly, I wouldn't invite 5 yr olds and 6 yr olds to a 3 hour party.
An hour and a half is plenty. 2 hrs at an absolute push.

Then decide how you are going to supervise that many dc - do you have enough adults to supervise a bouncy castle, whilst sorting the food, etc

If you had a bouncy castle though, surely you would just turn it off while the entertainer were doing his / her 'bit'?

Agree with the above. 2 hours absolute maximum, though you might well want the time either side for set up and clear up. Also agree you could inflate the castle when entertainer has finished - they only take a very few minutes to inflate. You will need several adults supervising a castle, ensuring maximum numbers, taking turns, staying back from the edge etc.

I did a party for a 6 year old recently, with about 30 kids. There is no way I would have had a bouncy castle - they were going crazy enough with just balloons. I think it would be very difficult to ensure children's safety. IMO a bouncy castle is better for a small number of children.

I found an entertainer online. They are generally fairly similar I've found and run party games, do balloon animals, glitter tattoos etc. The one we had was very good and the children all enjoyed it. There is a website where you can put in all your party requirements and different people will send you quotes which I found helpful.

I decide to have a 1.5 hour party. I did a similar 2 hour party for my elder DC when she was 5 and I found 1.5 hours was better as they tend to flag in the last 30 minutes.

With 30 children, I wouldn't have a county castle as the main source of entertainment because if they're all on it at the same time, it will be chaos! If do entertainer, party games and some dance music.
