It depends on whether the family are Christian or not. If they have a faith then I would recommend the book "the jesus storybook Bible".

Thank you. I had seen a book collection of Beatrix potter but wasn’t sure if that would be a good christening gift

A bunnikins bowl 1962 is still in use at my mother's and a tthree bears dish 1925 is still in use here ; both much loved christening gifts. My mil still uses her napjkin ring daily, 88 years on!
