Help me plan some party games for dds party (7yrs)(3 Posts)
Dd turns 7 in a couple of weeks and we have invited 14 of her friends round to our small house for a party! I have got activities for them to do, scratch art, beading bracelets etc, and a few things for running around the small garden (fingers crossed no rain) so just need ideas for games or other activities. Know all the usual musical statues etc so am looking for any other ideas.
Worried I’m going to end up with a horde of wild 6-7yr olds tearing round the house... Please help!
The good old chocolate game.... sit in circle, take turns to roll a dice, if you roll a 6 you put on hat, scarf and gloves and use knife and fork to eat individual chunks from a choc bar on a plate until next person rolls a 6.
Who's hidden? Send one player out of room. Choose another child to be hidden under a blanket. Child comes back into room and has 3 guesses to name the child that is under the blanket.
Blindfold shoe shuffle - Each person puts on a blindfold and takes off their shoes. They then throw them into a pile in the middle of the floor. The referee then jumbles them all up and then shouts GO! The first person to find their shoes by touch and smell alone and put them on is the winner.
A treasure hunt but hiding stickers and hair bobbles rather than chocolate!
Strawberry shoe lace race: competitors put one end of a strawberry shoelace between their lips and then put their hands behind their back. Somebody else shouts go and all competitors race to get the shoelace into their mouth without using their hands.
After Eight race: similar to the shoelace race but start with an after eight on your forehead.
Paper bag pick up: Your prop is one paper bag in the centre of the room, opened up full and standing up. Get the competitors to stand around the bag in a circle. The aim of the game is to pick up the bag without using their hands, arms, feet etc and without kneeling down (ie they have to pick up the bag in their mouth by leaning forwards). Each person gets one attempt otherwise they're out of the game. Each time you've gone round the circle, fold the paper bag over one fold (making it smaller) and then repeat the process. The winner is the one who lasts the longest! This game can be adapted for those who are differently abled (put on a table for example).
(This game was also done with a cereal box and 1cm / 1 inch cut off each time you go round the circle).
Thank you! Loving the shoe shuffle and strawberry lace race, both are definitely in
