What kind of whole class party for 9 year old boy?

For my sins, DS is having a whole class party for his 9th birthday. Any suggestions for what kind of party would work well that isn't likely to appear too babyish?

He's at a new school so no idea of what kind of parties have been held recently, though he has been invited to a couple of rock climbing parties already.

Sports or science? Does it have to be the whole class?

For the whole class?

Round here that would be private hiring the whole soft play in the evening.
Yes most of them are bored of it usually, but when it's only your mates in there, and no babies except friends siblings it becomes fun again and violent.

Nerf gun (either in soft play or hire a company to do it in a hall)
Football, wide games and picnic in the local park/playground

I was also going to suggest nerf gun party or laser quest

Some swimming pools let you private hire the whole pool.

Trampolining? Would probably be quite expensive for a while class though.

Laser quest or football coaching parties are generally what happen here Smile

Trampolining or bowling. Zoo party or when people bring in snakes etc.

I have an 11 year old ds. In past years we have had a football party at the local sports centre, 2 laser parties (v popular) and this year, paintballing, which was expensive and quite full-on, though ds said it was brilliant. I am hoping to wave goodbye to big parties when he starts secondary school - the bank account will thank me for it..

Swimming pool party at local leisure centre? Council run leisure centres usually close to the public on Sundays at about 4pm and you can hire it for an hour or two.
Depending on where you live there are also Bushcraft parties (our nearest is Bridgend). Great for boys!

Swimming parties are fun, but they might require adults to get in as well. Horror!

Laser tag is faves but pizza making parties quite fun as an alternative.

Football. And check out what your Sports Centre offers, as their may be other options.
Depending on how many, ten pin bowling might work.
