4th birthday party planning inspiration

Ok, my son turns 4 this summer and I'm stumped for a theme.

Themes help me tie things together and come up with games etc, so I need a theme. So far we've had super heroes (at home), pirates (at the local soft play), and paw patrol (home again). He's got his own interests that I can draw on, but he's so interchangeable with his favourite things right now I don't want to do a character themed party because you can guarantee he will go off it the day before the event.

Locally there are halls for hire etc, and I'd rather have an outside venue if possible because I'm really not looking forward to having a house full of people that I can't escape from.

Does anyone have any interesting ideas I can pinch?

At that age I'd go for pirates or a jungle theme. Book a soft play, lmy DS loved a soft play party at that age.

I used printable labels to do a minecraft inspired party for my little boy.

I bought a basic cake and then put chocolate fingers on the outside edge of the cake. I then used a candle like a sparkler to make it look like a keg of TNT.

Ooooh, the knights and dragons sounds good! Or space.

We've had pirates on a jungle island hunting for treasure at a soft play, which he enjoyed, but I don't want to repeat.

He's never played minecraft, but it's only a matter of time until he encounters it so I'm going to store that nifty idea a way for the future.

I'd go with knights and dragons :) tried to talk my dd into it but she's having none of it.

I would have a look on Pinterest, themes on there I would never have considered but seem to work.

If you did we've just read a fab book that'd make a good party bag and fit the theme that are £1 on the works

"How to catch a dragon"

I've asked him which theme he would like, and as soon as he heard "dragons" he was sold!

Awesome, now to start planning Grin
