Depends where you are. Around here (North London) around £150-£180 for a two hour party. Usually 45 mins of games, 30 mins for food, and then another 45 mins for a magic/puppet show.

Just had ds 5th birthday party last week and didn't hire an entertainer (did when he was 4 and for a couple of dd1's parties). Played a few games with them, but not easy. They preferred playing with all the ballons. Am going to go with something more organised next year!! Good luck.

East Sussex/Kent - between £100 and £170 for 2 hours for much the same as mamalocco described.

Alternatively you could book a bouncy castle for between £50-100 for the entire day.

If you don't know anyone who can recommend an entertainer, try calling any local nurseries. They sometimes have an entertainer for their Christmas/end of year party. The bouncy castle idea is a good one, so long as you don't have more than 15 or so kids. Any more than that and you spend most of your time rubbing bumped heads!

The last two I've booked were around £100 for 1 hour. They were both fantastic. Glasgow area.

I booked Silly Scott to do my Son's party in December, and he is fantastic !! I booked the 2hour full party package, all i had to do was the party food which he stopped for half way through the party. He even does the party bags on request, which are great value for money at only £1.50 per bag. Alfie my 5year old, and all his friends had a great time. He is still talking about his party now, and how he helped Scott magic his live rabbit for all the children to stroke. So we will be booking him again next year for his 6th birthday !! as i have told another member on a different thread Silly Scott, a very professional experienced entertainer. His website is www.sillyscott.co.uk
