right so planning DD2 3rd birthday, loads of kids from preschool, bouncy castle etc

but i'm stuck with invites, some of the parents tend to dump and run going by other preschool parties, but this is in quite an open venue and quite frankly their kids are 2/3/4 they shouldn't be dumping them and going. i need them to only come if their willing to stay with their kids, most do stay, but there's the same few who don't and they don't let you know in advance other wise i'd say 'well we really would prefer to have an adult stay'

we're allowing siblings too to rule out the 'we can't say coz of xxx older child' etc and tbf most of them go to the school with DD1 too so it isn't an issue

can anyone think of anyway that i could word this on an invite with out sounding like a bitch, it's going to be a huge party and DD2 first party with preschool (not just family)

so i want it to go well and i don't want to be chasing several kids i don't know well

I'd address the invite to the child and parent, eg Little Timmy and parent

Dear.... We would like to invite you and your adult to DD's birthday party. There will be a bouncy castle and food. Any older siblings are most welcome but please let us know in advance so we can make sure there is enough cake for everyone.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Love awesomeness

That's a good idea tired

OP you won't sound like a bitch! Are you "catering" for the grown ups too? Allude to that in the invite too.

To Timmy, Timmy's parents and Timmy's sibling.
OP's DC and OP's DC's Family would love to invite you to OP's DC's party on xxxxx at xxxxxxx
Light refreshments will be provided for the grown ups to enjoy whilst the children play. Siblings are very welcome to join in too

As the venue is quite large, and will accommodate lots of children, you will need to remain at the party with your child for safety but hopefully the refreshments and open arms for siblings will help to soften that blow!

We do hope to see you and little Timmy on cxxxx

Please RSVP by xxxxxx

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on xxxxxxx

We had this for ds 4th birthday. I just put 'please could you be responsible for your little ones on the bouncy castle to avoid any tumbles, lots of tea and cake provided!' Or something similar.
