I am usually bad at doing party bags (hate the things) but this year I am doing them for my 6yo DD. Unisex ideas - what is the best thing your child has ever received in a party bag?

I don't think we've ever had anything that held any interest past the car ride home. I did however find a bumper pack on amazon this year which was a good price for a lot of plastic tat.

The Book People is a good source of party bag fodder. You can often get collections of books that work out as £1 a book. Seem to go down well.

Lots of cool stuff in Tiger - felt pens that look like Russian dolls etc!

Someone did little jars of sweets and a piece of cake - I liked that best as most of the tat just goes into the bin and I really hate such unnecessary waste. DD also still uses the little jar so the DC liked it.

When dd was 7 I did a cake and a beeny boo instead of lots of bits of tat ( I found a website that did them for about £3 each because I bought a lot) apparently this was seen as the greatest party bag ever by all the kids!

A football. Can usually get them for around a pound in the big sports outlets.

Mine used to love bubbles.

Our DS went to a party and the party bag was a mum made cellophane come filled with animal shaped sweets and choc with a little thank you for coming to my party tag to tie it closed. Really liked that idea. All the kids got an animal mask too. DS loved it!

I found this site excellent //www.thelittlethings.co.uk
My children were chuffed with their party bag fillers and had lots of positive feedback from the Mum's! It's not all plastic rubbish😳

A roll of bandage. Costs about 40p in Sainsbo's. You can happily bandage many toys/friends with a single roll of bandage!
