Party bag ideas for 7 year old girls?

What are 7 year old girls in to? Have a few 7 year olds coming to DD's 4th birthday. Need to do party bags for them but don't know what they will like. Want to avoid cheap tatty stuff. Maximum budget £5. Thanks in advance

I think you can get a basic Barbie in Tesco for about 5 would that be OK or a bit OTT? For dd's b'day I didn't do party bags, I bought nice drinking cups from the pound shop and filled them with things relative to their age- could you do this with a nail varnish or lip gloss? What excatly did you have in mind, if anything?

Stationery, any type! All the supermarkets do nice little bits, but paperchase is the best!
A book, or a magazine?

I really don't know what they are in to. What about a mug from the disney store, a princess one. Is that too boring?

I bought plain white cheap t shirts and fabric pens for them to design their own piece of fashion!

I would have thought Disney Princesses too young for 7yo.

I'd buy a set of rainbow fairies books from the book people, yet to meet a 7 heart old girl who would have been dissapointed with that.

Hi Kuppikavhia, thank you for that idea. I was just looking at the book people web site and the age range for these rainbow books are 5+. Do you think they would still be suitable if they were nearing 8 years of age?

Unfortunately my 7yr dd2 loathes rainbow fairies, always has. Depends how girly they are. Roald Dahl goes down well here or stationery. Both girls like rubbers, felt tip pens, notebook, sketchbook or doodle book. Something with their name on too tends to go down well. Either the standard things from WHSmith etc if popular names or something ordered from ebay - loads of pencils, pencilcases etc.

A cheaper option- poundland has a twirling ribbon www.poundland.co.uk/swirl-stick-streamer-35cm which would be suitable for both ages - you could open them and give them out without packaging if you don't want to reveal the source. Or a cheap cookery book maybe with cutters/ silicone cases etc.

Make sure that you know your audience - around here usually spend £1-3 max on party bag as birthday presents start around £5-7.

My niece is 7 and apart from a set of tupperware or storage boxes (that's another thread altogether) shed like nothing more than a pink notebook pink pen or set of pencils. She loves stuff like that. Think shes writing her memoirs the amount of notebooks shes filled. places like B&M do sets for a couple of £ s

As the mum of a 7 yr old DD please don't do barbies or makeup. It's hard enough to stem the tide of pink crap as it is!
Stationery is good, but basically all my DD looks for in a party bag is cake and some chocolates/sweets.

You can't go wrong with stationery really.

Or how about a fancy glass/knickerbocker glory glass, filled with sweets and wrapped in cellophane and tied with ribbons.

It's my Dds 7th bday party coming up. I hate the normal plastic party bag tat. So I'm doing pretty cupcakes - fancy wrapper and cheap wafer butterflies (eBay) on top. Then these are put in stunning little boxes that look like cottages with ribbon and tags! I love them! Try littlecupcakeboxes website for ideas.

Sweetie cones always work for any age. I love the idea of a cup from Poundland filled with bits and bobs. I agree no disney or rainbow magic. My eldest is 8 soon and she loved them but now hates them with a passion.

Loom bands!!! My DD just had her 8 party, I bought 1800 online for £1.99 and split them into small bags for the party bags. Also made them each a bead bracelet with their name on using alphabet beads.

When DD2 had a birthday party at home when she was 7 (or 8?) we had a bouncy castle and then organised games. One of the games was a treasure hunt. We gave them all a small bag and they then had to run around the garden and find all the small bags of sweets and wrapped sweets we had just hidden (whilst they were doing a drawing game). At the end the person who had collected the most won a cruddy toy and whilst they were eating birthday cake I secretly evened out the bags so that everyone had around the same number of sweets. Those bags of sweets were their party bags.

Stationery is good- rubbers, anything smelly, gels pens, etc.My nearly 8yo likes those pouches of bubble bath, or bath bombs/confetti too.

I think loom bands is a great idea - you can get little bags with a hook and clips in The Works; scented ones or glow in the dark etc
