I'm on my sick bed so I'm doing a bit of forward planning!

I am throwing DParents a 25yr wedding anniversary party next May.

It will be in my back garden with a marquee, was thinking about hiring a caterer to do a hog roast but wanted to make sure there was variety, so was thinking......

Hog roast
Crackling
Gravy
Apple sauce
Crusty bread rolls
Jacket potatoes
Potatoe salad
Leafy Green salad
Corn on the cobs
Coleslaw
Bowls of cherry tomatoes
Stuffed peppers that have been bbq'd

And for dessert....

Chocolate brownies
Fresh raspberries and strawberries
Cream
Ice cream

They are having also having a normal cake.

I'm getting worried as I have never thrown a party this big before......any help will be much appreciated!

That sounds great - keep it big (i.e. enough of one item) and simple. Although - do you need a veggie option? How about some kind of bean salad, which will also be fine for vegan/dairy intolerant etc. I do one that is: 2 cans of kidney beans (rinsed), 2 cans of sweetcorn, a few chopped peppers (into little cubes), drizzles over olive oil and the juice of one or two limes and some coriander. Mix together. Dead simple and looks very colourful.

You could probably double those amounts for 100 people as the hardcore meat eaters probably won't touch it with a bargepole!

Sounds divine. Only thing I'd question is whether you need jacket potatoes and potato salad?
