Planning a party for my DM&D's 40th wedding anniversary later this year. Wondering about having a themed dress-code (1973) which could be hilarious but could also be naff and stressful.

Would you?

I love a theme - it gives the party a sense of character and I end up pulling everything into it; invites, table setting, food, decor, dress, games/entertainment etc. But, lljkk has a good point, because if they don't buy into it, it will just be naff.
