When people that I know have done this, they have hired a venue and then brought caterers in. That way you can have somewhere with say a bouncy castle and an area for a children's entertainer.

It's been a long time (and no idea if it is still open or any good), but I once attended a private party at Porte Des Indes. It was/is located north of Oxford Street (on one of those little side streets behind Selfridge's).

hi wantsthebest - am in the same boat as you, wanting to organise a large-ish party for my 3 yr old in March, with a combo of adults and kids of various ages. I am in Woking but willing to look at London. Any other places you have considered for your party? Ta!

i found one called amani (ex chaf of Cinnamon Kitchen) - its in warlingham and has one in epsom downs - bit small - only takes 80 people and pricey (food looks good) - but i dont knwo - someone todl me about Calcutta club in seven oaks - bit far away but big and cheaper - i prefer london as easier for everyone to get to and most out of town ones are still expensive - if you come up with anything let me know too
