Spiderman cake ideas please!

DS (5) wants a spiderman cake for his birthday. Tesco etc don't seem to make them anymore, so I have to be brave and make one. Help! Last time I said I'd make a cake, my older son wailed, "This is going to be the worst birthday ever!"

So what do I do? Ordering a cake topper online is the easiest option. But I am tempted to get a small spiderman figure and attempt to make some rectangular skyscrapers to put him on - or does that way madness lie? I can feel the anxiety levels rising every time I think about trying to make skyscrapers out of icing.

Anyone else made a spiderman cake? What did you do?

why dont u get a cake specialist to do it for u? would be aroudn £20-30 but saves u the hassel? x

Don't think I have time, Bnamammy. Party's on Sunday. Someone has just told me that Asda do one, though. If there's one in stock, I'll probably get that. If there isn't, I'll have to do it myself.
