First pre-school trip - terrified

I went to collect DD from nursery yesterday to find a note in her tray saying that her Early Years class are going on a trip to a local farm.

My DD is 3 years old and one of the youngest, she's really well behaved and i'm sure she'll be fine but I feel terrified.

I'm nervous about leaving her in the care of anyone else, even Grandma and she's never been in a car driven by anyone other than myself or my DH.

The trip involves going on a bus (with no car seat, only a 3 point seat belt provided). I don't want to stop her going and having fun, which i'm sure she will, i'm just worried about her safety.

What do you think? Am I being neurotic?

I wouldn't be happy about the no car seat, why can they not use a coach that uses the double straps over the shoulders.
I can understand how you feel, my 4 dc are all at school now but when they were at pre-school and went on a trip the local coach company had one coach fitted out with more suitable seat belts. They also asked for parent helpers and i did go occasionally.
You could make the excuse to meet them there,taking your own car.You won't be the only one who is nervous, if you know the staff well I would speak to them.

i accept they will need parent helpers to go with them, why dont you volunteer!

I do think it sounds like you need to relax a bit.. Never having been in a car driven by anybody else is just setting yourselves up for a LIFETIME of worry..

I don´t want to sound harsh but I really think you're doing yourselves (beginning with your DD) no favours at all.

I think you need to learn to let go a bit. What happens when she goes to school?

Taylor80, I'd be worried too. I don't think I'd have let mine go at all at that age. I acknowledge that I'm unduly anxious - but I don't at all like the seat-belt arrangement that you describe. I don't think I'd let her go. I'd take her to a farm myself if I were you.
