My DS got his first tooth at 5 and half months old since then he has just got one after the other quite fast. At the minute he is soo unsettled and upset he is trying to bite on anything and everything he can get his hands on bless him.
It looks as though he is getting 2 back ones is this normal at this age??
Any tips on how to try and ease the pain for him.
I give him calpol (when needed) to help
Teething gel
He has teething rings which he doesnt use much
He loves biting his bibs!!
Thankyou Shell

I think it's normal Shellmc, my 11mo is similar.
I give her cucumber to gnaw on, it's nice and cool, might help with the molars?
Poor little things.

Sounds normal to me.
DD is 13 months, and has 10 teeth (incl. 4 molars) and looks like she is going to cut more as she is biting things a lot (like my arm)recently.

Far to dangerous to stick my finger in her mouth and feel how many are cutting now though, unfortunately!

I feel for you, shellmc. DS2 had 12 teeth on his first birthday and looking back, this is why he was such an unsettled baby. I don't think there's a great deal you can do other than a good teething gel (Anbesol worked best for us) and make sure he always has a bib to chew on if that's what he likes!! Oh, and obviously keep him as cool as poss in the warm weather, we found that he got really hot when a tooth was coming through so he felt worse through the summer.

If it's any consolation, DS settled down completely once all his teeth were through into a sunny, gentle adorable little boy, and he's no different now at 14!!

Thankyou all for your comments!

I will try that anbesol teething gel i think as iv always used dentinox.

I tend to always give him a bib to hold as this is what he prefers to bite on.
Purplebuns you made me laugh when you said your LO likes biting on your arm, gosh hope he doesnt decide to do that, altho if it helped i dont think id mind at the minute ha ha.

Thanks again to you all
