No, not just yours. Mine did too.
Mine did it partly out of frustration, mainly her inability to communicate as well as she wanted to, and also out of attention seeking.
It drove me seriously crazy, but it was just another phase that passed.
Then another annoying phase came along instead!!!!

DDs do it competetively now.

Its not just girls believe me.My boys (4 &2) regularly do it. And especially in confined spaces. Ugh.

It's not just yours, our dd screams whenever she is told she can't do something and as soon as she hears an echo she does it extra loud! Drives me nuts!

My dd also does it for amusement. She's also taught her little brother to scream too, so double the fun!

My DS also does it for the sake of amusement. He loves to hear himself scream and it's enough to drive me bloody nuts some days! LOL I've actually had my 23 month old DS and my 7 YEAR old DS have screaming competitions... Drives me crazy, I hate it. When that starts I usually find them both something to do real fast (send my oldest DS on the computer and for my younger DS I will get out a bunch of dinky cars that he just LOVES). Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
