Has anybody out there had any experience of Sure Start?

I think you should look into Home Start as well. Sorry to hear you are finding it tough. Parenting doesn't come easy at times. P.S. I have two boys 2.3 and 6.5 months and I can safely say the last 6 months have been the toughest in my life!

sure start in our area consists of various things, the main one is a children's centre that offers breastfeeding advice, toy library, general drop in sessions and pretty much a "oh god help me" kind of thing. There is also a 0-9month baby group. they have been great and are well linked into the Health Visitors so they work together and let you know whats available and stuff. Well worth a visit. Ask your HV if you don;t know about it in your area (it does vary). Best of luck

Children's centres can be very supportive. A friend has had great help from them. I think they are run by sure start. I really hope you find the help you need. X

Hi bubble1 - could you try a local NCT group? They have local get togethers and stuff. THere's also a local area on babycentre I think. How old are your kid(s)?

I know the feeling - yesterday morning I was not coping at all, almost didn't get DS1 to school because I was in tears and DS2 had just projectile pooed all over his baby bouncer. The midwife phoned to say basically, 'you're in good health and so you won't be needing any more visits' and I felt like saying to her, 'no, come round please! I need another adult to talk to!'

big hug to you. Any particular thing you finding hard or just everything??

Think the fact that hubby and i splitting up is not helping...but everything seems to be going tits up at moment...really bad behaviour getting to me.
