AM on my own with DD's today and it is grim out. I am tired and really not in the mood for playing or cooking. So what to do with them?

Oh look, it is DD1's elephants birthday!

I had some 'ready made biscuit dough' [bleurgh] so they made 'biscuits' and then I melted chocolate in the microwave and let them stir in rice krispies.
That was the extent of my involvement

Crayons and paper - they drew invitations
Collecting soft toys from the house and lining them up for a photo
Bubbles
music (frrm laptop while I pause it every so often) for dancing
Then big paper plate of microwave plain popcorn, bics, rice krispie cakes, grapes, cut up sausages and cheese sandwichs
Jelly pots and icecream for pudding.
squash in paper cups with straws

prizes for games are a raisin.

Games are 'who can sit on the chair the fastest'
Who can jump the highest
Who can sit the stillest (elly won that)

NO washing up. No cooking. Mess is just soft toys which can be chucked in box after they have gone to bed.

Girls are exhausted and happy having had 'the BEST day EVER'

I am a genius.

Nice one Jack.

If I tried it, it would end up in a fight.

It hasn't been loud tbh, only the music bit, and I force them to listen to decent stuff anyway.
Quiert enough for me to have Come Dine With Me on in the background anyway

Best thing is it cost me nothing.

Try it 2littlemonkeys, DD1 was chuntering about his birthday this morning and after lunch I just went with it.I didn't think DD2 would go for it tbh but we decided it ws a joint party.

They are 2.6 and 4.3 btw.

Make sure you ahve something easy and mess free for them to cook.
Chocolate to melt and rice krispies was a bit messy but nothing a dustpan couldn't deal with. They didn't waste any choc on the floor...

ready made biscuit dough tastes vile but they seem to like it, no effort.

Only thing missing was balloons, I have a tesco cheapy bag somewhere but can't find it.
Go to pound shop and get cheap pack party paper plates, cups, napkins and bubbles/toy things.
I had leftovers from DD1's party so didn't need any but they come in 8's or soemthing so am going to get some more for next time.

Paper and crayons, optional box with hole in for posting invitations.

Playlist of jumpy music you can handle.

I want fake birthday parties across the nation!

But seriously I need other ideas for when it is raining and grim outside and their wellies are already wet, am seriously running out!
