Just posted re bed times and also wanted to check folks experiences and get advice re this.Ds and dd great company- but im worried about not getting time with dh if children start to stay up later as im no night owl and need to be in bed by eleven.
I find that if children stay up late occasionally i just go to bed when they do.This ok occasionally, but if i did this all the time woul d never see dh and im worried that it would effect relationship. How do you get time with dh as the children get older......help !!!

I guess you just have to get a baby sitter and go out?! Its the only way to have proper child free couple time.
Or when they're older the children might be in one room and you and DH will be in another.2 tvs.

I find my older 2 girls age 15 and 13 dissapear to their room about 9ish or have a shower, we get a couple of hours together at night no problem, they've always done this and on school nights it's lights out at 10pm.
On the weekends we sometimes all watch a film together when their brothers have gone to bed, but its nice to have their company when were all just chilling out. Makes a change to any bickering that may have gone on earlier in the day.

My children are getting to the stage where they don't go to bed that much earlier than me. But it doesn't actually mean they sit on my lap all evening interrupting every conversation with dh. They have rooms of their own, they have interests, they don't actually want to spend every waking moment of their day talking to dh and me. And the upside is, we can go off for a walk or something and they're not necessarily going to want to come. Not that I don't enjoy their company, but sometimes a little adult time is good, and it does seem to be easier and easier to get that.
