Milk at night 2.5 yr old - should i stop

DD sleeps like an angel - partly coz we leave a water / milk bottle in her cot at night - so she comfort feeds on her way to sleep, and sometimes wakes drinks the rest in the morning before going back to sleep ( BONUS). I sometimes add a small amount of formula to taste - worried that her low appetite daytime is because she drinks too much. If i stop the bottle at night - am worried she'll wake and cry ? Is it bad to leave a bottle in the cot for her - selfishly i like the fact she sleeps through and wakes later

I think I'd take milk away that'd been at room temperature after an hour or so.
And also maybe try and move the milk drink to before her teeth get brushed.
I don't see anything wrong with leaving a drink of water accessible all night though.

Hang on, she's two and a half an in a cot

At that age I'd remove it or leave a drink of water in it's place. Otherwise how on earth are you ever going to start on potty training?

No problem with 2 1/2 in a cot to my mind, but I think her teeth are a concern if she has milk after brushing. If it's just a habit, she might be happy to drink some water and fall asleep again.

What's potty training to got to do with milk or cots?

I wish we'd done this differently. My DS is almost 4, and whilst I managed to get rid of the milk at bedtime at around 2 he still takes a beaker (anyway up cup) of water to bed with him and drinks it all night. I wish we could get rid of his night time nappies - he's be toilet trained in day for 18 months but even when I take him to toilet at 11pm he's still sodden in morning. I know to get rid of the night time nappies will need to get rid of nighttime water. But he'll not go to bed without it. I think we are stuck with nighttime nappies for a while

re: milk - yuck at the thought of DC drinking milk in the morning thats been out all night - also not good for teeth either.

We used to give throw DD a bottle of milk in her when she woke up in the morning and she used to drink it and go back to sleep.
