it's absolutely stifling hot in London and my baby usually sleeps in a sleeping bag, even tog 1 seems to much but she wont settle with just a sheet.

DS is just wearing a baby vest & nappy. Got a fan blowing in the room as well. Will she settle in just a vest??

vest and nappy vote here. No covers - maybe a sheet over when i go to bed, depending on how much it has cooled down.

yep just a vest and nappy but rolls all over her cot when she isn't in her sleeping bag and gets her feet caught in the spindles and wakes in the middle of the night, I also have a fan going.

erm put a fan on, close the curtains? make sure there's a breeze flowing through the house. Can't really help much for tonight but there's a machine you can buy where you put ice in it and it blows cold air out. Will have a look for it, know that Maplin sells it.

I am so tempted to buy one of those air conditioners but there a bit of nightmare to store once this heat wave is over and knowing my luck the minute I buy one it will start raining

This heat wave does really suck doesn't it?? Ds is 7 months old and I've been putting him to sleep in a nappy and vest - sometimes a pair of loose shorts if it seems like it may cool down later in the evening. I typically open the window and put the fan in front of it around 6pm so it cools down a bit and keep the blinds closed all day so it doesn't get too much sun. Today is nicer though - maybe it won't be so hot tonight!!

We got one of those coolers that you put the ice into - they don't work all that great... Problem is that the ice melts way too fast and it's not much cooler than a fan anyway.
