Was wondering in this cold weather what people are putting their newborns to sleep in. I've been putting my 2 week old DD down with just a vest & sleepsuit, but she's been waking quite a lot & am thinking she might be cold, have put a cardigan on over these today & she's a lot more settled. Do you think this is too much, I don't want her to over heat.

FSIDs & Mothercare websites have a guide on layers according to room temperature. Do you have a thermometer in the room?

As an example, my DS was a January baby so we kept his room at 18c and dressed him in a vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog grobag (he hated blankets from the off). I was told by my HV to always feel his chest to see how warm he is as some babies feel the cold or heat more than others.

Congratulations.
