Too young for calpol?

Just took 6 week DD to doctor as she's not feeding (sep thread), and doc said she's got bad cold and give her calpol.
I thought you weren't supposed to give babies calpol till 3 months? What age did you start giving babies calpol? DD doesn't even have temperature, just snuffly and doesn't want to feed.

The advice on the box is that you can give calpol from 2mo. A lot of people give it after the first round of jabs at 2mo.

The exception to this is when it's on doctors advice. If your GP has said to give calpol, did he advise the does?

Perhaps have a chat with the pharmacist - tell him/her what your GP has said and they will be able to advise you further.

although, if she doesn't have a temperature, I don't really see the point in giving it to her.

have you got one of those nasal aspirators? Brilliant for clearing stuffy noses when they're having difficulty feeding. Again, ask the pharmacist.
