I can't be the only one - he whinges constantly. He gets up, has breakfast, then whinges until naptime, then whinges until lunch, then whinges until next naptime, then whinges until dinner etc. etc. He's trying to crawl ATM and he gets up on all fours and kind of rocks, and as soon as he's in his cot he'll do that and then cry cos he can't sleep. He goes to sleep when he collapses exhausted. He's also been quite restless at night recently. I'm sort of following a routine but I do adjust if I think he's hungrier or tired earlier, I just don't know what to do to stop him whinging. He even does it when I'm playing with him. I feel myself losing patience - I do try and remain calm because I know if I'm wound up it'll only make him worse.

I can't be alone, please tell me there are other fed up mummies out there!

Do you have anyone who can give you a break? Is he picking up on your (understandable) feelings, do you think? Much sympathies, its hell while you're going through it.

My DH is great, although works full time. He's not that bad everyday, it's just a bad one today and that makes it seem so much worse.

I'm with RainRain - I walked DD1 so much that DH bought me an MP3 player. It was the only way she would sleep. On the upside, it was great exercise for me too.

I find when my 2 are in the full whinge mode, we just get out of the house. It tires them out, dilutes the whining and the day doesn't seem so long.

It is hard when you have whinging dcs. I used to long for my friends problems of just a good old fashioned tantrum which was over, rather than the nails down a blackboard thing.

I think it will get better, or at least it mutates!

He'll probably be more settled as soon as he does learn to crawl. At least for a short while - until the next big thing he has to learn to do.

Agree with going outside, even if you don't always feel like it. It makes us both feel better.

Also, do you do any toddler groups or activities? Pretty much had to do a toddler group or swim in the morning and walk around and let him swing around at our local park in the afternoon around that age.

When they are entertained they tend to whine less.
