Just wondering....why are some babies pukier than others? What causes it? What's normal for a small baby (my dd2 is 5 weeks)??

I don't know the answer, but I share your pain!

DD was a terribly sicky baby! I always went to work with the faint wiff of puke on my shoulder! Strangely, she was sicky on full fat milk too, until I changed her to semi at 18mths She stopped immediately though!

DS1 was a serious vomiter - he would projectile vomit huge waves of milk after most feeds. I would have to feed him covered in a towel & we eventually got rid of his bedroom carpet & put some waterproof vinyl down. This is most definitely not normal & he had reflux!

DS2 is a puker - he will dribble sick after a feed or with a burp, or if I lie him on his front or sit him up etc. It seems like quite a lot to other people but having lived with a power vomiter, I reckon he's a normal healthy but sickie baby.

FWIW, most sickie babies seem to grow out of it shortly after weening.
Does that help?
