Just wondering how much "should" a 17 mth old girl be eating for breakfast, lunch, dinner and what about snacks in between. My daughter is still drinking 225 ml milk at 11H00 and again 225 ml at 19H00 is she having to much milk, think I can remember that it is recommended that they get 500 ml a day for the first few years.
Maybe I should cut down on the milk to get her to eat more ?

Hello Denmark. No I don't think this is too much at all - my ds2 is the same age and also has the same amount of milk at around the same times. He also has 1 Weetabix or porridge with 1/2 banana for breakfast. Lunch is usually a few sandwiches (aobut 1+1/2 slices bread and filling), a chunk of cheese and some fruit (grapes, raisins, strawberries etc). For dinner he has a small portion of what's going for the family and some yoghurt or ice-lolly/ice-cream or fruit etc. HTH

ps - in between I carry around some cheddar biscuits, or pure fruit bars etc.

All I could do is tell you what my dd has to eat in a day and you can see how it compares.

In the morning (7.30/8ish) she has 1 weetabix with milk or a bowl of cheerios (she will often ask for cheerios after her weetabix and I will give her a handful with a little milk). She has 1-2 ounces of milk with breakfast out of an open top cup.

She normally has a snack mid-morning - a few small breadsticks, some pieces of apple or grapes, cheesy crackers, etc (I dont give her all of these at once - these are just examples!!) along with a drink of water/very diluted juice.

She has a nap for 1 1/2 hours or so and has lunch around 1.30/2pm - has 1 slice of cheese on toast or a cheese toasty or a small bowl of soap with a slice of toast or toast and spaghetti hoops, etc (she normally has some form of toast at lunch...lol) - she also has a small yoghurt and has a drink of water/juice

There is no time for an afternoon snack really as lunch is around 5.30/6ish - cheesy vegetable pasta, pasta bolognaise, haggis, tatties and neeps (yes she does like it!), chicken, mashed potatoes and peas, etc, etc - I also give yoghurt/custard/small ice cream with this meal too along with a drink of water/juice

She then has a small avent magic cup of milk before bed (around 5/6ounces).

From 1 year the minimum intake of milk is 350mls (around 12 ounces) and that includes milk on cereal, in food, in cooking and also any dairy products they are having.

Sorry for rambling but hope its useful to you.

My dd is 20 months and I have the same concerns. She has approx 180ml at 7.00am ish and anything from 180-260 ml at 7.15pm. Breakfast is 1 weetabix with milk and a yoghurt. Snack about 10.00am will be a biscuit or breadstick. Lunch is either crackers and cheese or soup and a roll. I find she eats most if its soup and a roll. Sandwiches are a no go, she hardly eats half a slice of bread if I give this. Jacket potato with tuna andmayo usually goes down ok though. Dinner is usually ok she has a reasonable portion of pasta dish, bolognaise, or meat with mash and veg, followed by yoghurt or fruit and custard. Oh she has yoghurt after lunch as wellfor (she would have it all day if I let her). I thibk my concern is lunch she really doesn't seem to eat that much at that time. Her nap is then around 1,15-1,30 and can be for about 45mins or 1 and half hours if lucky. Any ideas for getting her to eat more when it's a sandwich?????
