bedwetting...
(7 Posts)Hi, my dd just wet the bed - we have been using those disposable pampers pads but they move around as she wriggles in the night - any advice on mattress protectors? I seem to remember them being horrid to lie on when I was little, are they still? who makes good ones? thanks!
We use something like this sheet protector. It doesn't rustle and you can't feel it. It also works well for nose bleeds, vomit and other lovely night time incidents!!
thanks - looks better than the disposables but bit worried she will still 'wriggle' that one down the bed - what I think I really need is like a fitted sheet, but waterproof and not too plasticky!
I used this one from the White Company. (Although it was a lot cheaper when I bought it )
It has a good thick layer of polyurethane, which protects the mattress really well, but covered with nice soft cotton flannel. It does tend to make the bed hotter for the children, but I think that any good waterproof protector will do that.
It is also good and stretchy which makes it easy to get on and off the bed (particularly useful for those 3am sheet changes).
wow, £30 for the white company one!! looks nice though. I found good reviews for this one on the Hippychick.com website for £24, so have bought that... will let you know if it is a good one, am fed up with airing mattresses!
It is so hard to know how to react... are you cross with them when they wet their pants/bed, or do you just say "don't worry it was a mistake"?
I think it's very important not to be cross with them - however, that is mighty hard when it happens at 3 or 4am (which was the usual time for DS ).
Hope the new mattress cover works - having one helps lower the crossness factor too BTW.
We have gone majorly backwards with the whole potty training thing this week in every way....... the hippychick mattress protector has just arrived and looks fab - thanks for the advice!!
