Anyone else feel sooooo guilty after shouting at their children???

Shouted at ds2 tonight after him and ds1 were constantly demanding things off of me. Wouldn't eat their dinner but wanted me to make them other stuff. Then they were arguing over toys. I shouted and then told them to leave me alone with no demands on me till I had had a cup of tea, went to my bedroom shut the door and drank my tea! Feel so awful now. They are only 3 and 4.

Have been at work cleaning all day. My mum has been looking after them and she panders to their every want. She took them to the toy shop let them choose a toy. When they got home aparently ds2 didn't like his toy so she took them back for him to choose another toy. Then I come back home and feel like the big bad wolf!!

Yes, frequently
my DS's have been awful this afternoon (they are 5 and 3) and I put them to bed early. Now they're asleep I feel guilty for shouting at them, they look angelic (until tomorrow!).
Mine are always worse when they've just been to PIL's, who give into them far more that we do, though they have toughened up a bit more. DS1 has been back at school for 2 days and DS2 just started preschool, so I think that they are tired, but still!

Don't worry, we all do it and it does them no good being spoilt. May be worth having a word with your MOm, she's not helping you any!

I usually feel a bit guilty because as soon as I have shouted my brain kicks in and I realise how I could have got the message across in a politer way. I rarely say things I don't mean in anger, but just say things I mean in a loud cross voice. Making it clear you need a bit of peace and quiet to calm down is a fair enough request.

I usually apologise for shouting whilst making it clear I meant what I said. Then I try not to beat myself up about it when I do shout. We are all human! But my DCs always forgive me before I forgive myself.
